VINTAGE SAX
Anybody who plays sax, desire to blow at
once vintage sax such like a Selmer MARK
VI which Michael Brecker and David Sanborn
play. Anybody who plays sax, desire to have
a early Selmer sound and to blow jazz standards
like a Coltrane.
The sax usually called vintage in Japan is
to Selmer MARK VII. That's when Selmer US
stopped to assemble Super Action 80 in 1981.
Especially many jazz players adhere to Selmer
US sax. Although Selmer US and Selmer Paris
are using same parts except for pads and
a springs. Selmer US sax was assembled, engraved
and lacquered in the United States. In other
words, what was carried out in the finish
as sax in the United States is called Selmer
US sax. And it was also made for jazz music.
Although it may be said whether to change
so much by the same parts, the value of sax
has started this finish truly. When taking
out to overhaul, the talks that touch has
completely changed, sound completely changed
by changing only some pads, are an often
heard. The assembly and finishing are works
which gives a life to the musical instrument
and it is not an overstatement.
